REVERSIBLE pumping plant "Bajina Basta" is the second phase
of the hydroelectric power station system "Bajina Basta". On
the mountain of Tara two rock-filled dams were built which
form the accumulation of 150x10 million m3.
§ "Lazici" are the rock-filled dams with clay core, 125 m high
in the canyon and 45 m on the saddle. The inflow-outflow tunnel
through Mt Tara, from the accumulation to the machine building
is 8 km long, pale opening 6,3 m and steel pipeline 42/48 m of
1400 m length. The surge tank has dia 12 m and is 140 m high,
with two bottom and two upper chambers, dia 6 to 10 m, length
65 m each. The machine building is dug-in and its dimensions
are 90x40 m and 38 m high. The bottom entry-exit structure with the
well chamber and the hole 7x16 m is in the concrete dam
"Bajina Basta".
§ Other important characteristics:
- open pit excavation 560,000 m3,
- embankments 3,650,000 m3,
- total concrete 170,000 m3,
- reinforcement 3,300 tons,
- height of pumping 600 m,
- rated power 600 MW.
