BUILDING of three pumping stations SSI, SSIII, SSX with
complete delivery and installation of electrical and
electromechanical equipment. Manufacture and assembly of
the pipeline in the length 33 km, with the pipes of
pre-stressed concrete dia from 1,200 to 1,800 mm. This included the drainage
pipeline which fitted in the irrigation system
KIPA.
§
KIPA-KIRKUK project is a part of grand-scale irrigation
project.
§
The basic purpose of the system is: 1. river regulation, 2.
land irrigation, 3. supply drinking water to settlements.
§
The project comprises the irrigation of 100,000 ha of
agricultural land. The necessary water is provided by combined
concrete arch dam and soil-filled dam. Downstream from the dam
a canal was built with the purpose to dewater the accumulation
to the distance up to 100 km. Differences of levels were
surmounted by a series of pumping stations. By pipes and pumps water is
distributed to the nearby fields. The system of pipes was
manufactured according to SENTAP technology, under the Swedish
licence by the experts of "Dywidag", Germany. The remaining
water is used for supply of drinking water to the town of
Kirkuk.
