THE FOOTBRIDGE "Sveti Irinej" ('`Saint Irenaeus") overbridges
the Sava connecting Macvanska and Sremska Mitrovica. The bridge
consists of the approach structure of the simple beam system
with the span of 35 m and the main bridge system structure with
oblique tie-rods of the span 35 + 192-5 + 35 m. The bridge
width is 5.5 m and in the pylon zones it is increased to 6.5 m since
the
pylons are positioned in the mid plane of the bridge. The
stiffening beam is supported on the riparian and pylon piers,
and it consists of the steel, trapezoidal box girder which is
composite
with the reinforced concrete plate. The bridge pylons are solid
reinforced concrete square section, fixed into the pylon piers.
The total pylon height from the fixing point to the cap top is
38.90 m. They protrude through the stiffening beam and are completely
separated from it.

The carrying cables 41.9 m to 91.5 m long in the span over
the river are in the mid plane of the bridge (2 x 3 pieces) and
they are anchored in the separately constructed zones in the
stiffening beam and pylon caps. Outside the main span the
cables are anchored at one end in the pylon caps and at the other end
they are separated and anchored outside the traffic profile in
the lateral box sides (2 x 6 pieces).
