NEW RAILWAY BRIDGE across the river Sava in Belgrade was
designed and built within the framework of the new
conception of the railway complex, so called "Prokop". The
entire bridge consists of three parts: approach structures on
the left and right hand side of the river, made up of continuous
prestressed concrete girders with the span of 45 to 75.5 m and
reinforced concrete with the span of 35 to 38.5 m and a central
steel structure with oblique tie-rods of 557.94 m length with
the river span of 213.70 m.
§
The cross structure is formed by two main girders of the box
cross-section with constan width and height, and they are
inter-connected by orthotropic plate. The bridge deck of the
orthotropic plate is sunk by 90 cm from the train girder upper
belt, so that the channel is formed for the ballast in which
the double railway track is laid. Service footways are situated
outside the main girders. Under the footway- floor (which can be
lifted) there are electric cable ducts. Heating pipes are
positioned under the orthotropic plate and they are served by one pathway along
the entire bridge. The pathways for the inspection
cart with telescopic pulling of the lateral parts are positioned near the
lower belt, on the interior side of the main girders.
§
The pylons are placed in the main girder centres above the
columns and they exceed the main girders for 52.49 m. They are
inter cross connected between the anchored places of the upper
anti lower cluster of the steel ropes. The pylon column
founding gyms on the reinlen-ced concrete caissons and of all other
columns on the piles type HW", dia. 1,500 mm, length about 17 m.
