Project information

THE TOWER was a free-standing, reinforced concrete structure carving a steel column - antenna system carrier.
The concrete structure was 136.65 m high, the lantern carrier was 6.2 m and the total tower height was 202.87 m. At the height of 102.75 m there was a seven-storey structure out of which three are closed, and four are open terraces.
The plan of the building was a regular hexagonal inscribed in a circle dia. 17 m, measured at the widest point of the building

§ The basic characteristics are: the tower was cast in reinforced concrete, the formwork timber wrought without any finish. For the foundation form work of the tower base cross section, the reinforced concrete pipes were used within which the angle reinforcement was performed.

§ Other important characteristics are: the base cross section of the tower has the shape of an equilateral triangle with the strengthened angles of round cross section.
This was the only tower in the world which has an equilateral triangle for its cross section.
The length of the triangle side was 7 m, and the strengthening dia was 1.05 m. Three tower legs
are supported in their hinges on the foundation blocks dug 1.40 m deep in the rock.

§ The tower was destroyed during the NATO assault on Serbia
