THE WATER TOWER with a round reservoir capacity 2,000
m3, with the mid dia 21 m and average height 6.15 In, is placed
on a central annular column with the dia 31 m. The water
overflow level in the reservoir is 39 m above the terrain.
The reservoir bottom, almost horizontal, consists of the upper
annular slab strengthened by racially positioned webs which are at the
other end joined by a very perforated slab in the shape of a
multi-pointed star. The reservoir bottom slab webs are joined via the inner
support ring with the radial webs on the column circumference.
The column is formed on the circular slab of dia 17 m.
§
The reservoir bottom bearing slab and its outside
circumference wall are both made of prestressed concrete. The prestressing of
the bottom slab was done with radial cables, and the circumference
wall by cables crossed at 45o angle. The column and its
foundation as well as the roofing elements for the platform above the
reservoir were performed in reinforced concrete.
