THE BUILDING company "Rad" has its own system for
manufacture of flats and apartments. This system has a great
flexibility with a Free access to architectural
modeling of buildings of various purposes, honoring
the basic principles
for optimum utilization of the structure. It is a complete system
for full prefabrication of flats and consists of: designing of flats for
this system, fabrication in the plants, transportation and
assemblage on the site. Under this technology the elements arrive to the site
with completely built-in installations for electricity, water supply
and sea-age. They are also provided with necessary openings anti
services for heating installations us well as joinery and metal fittings.
The elements assembled in such a way provide 85%u completion
of the building as well as a complete thermal protection by
continuous technical insulation in the exterior layer of the
building.
The system "RAD" cm be applied in all seismic zones. The
factory output is 1,500 flats per year, with a possible
increase to
2,000.

In the Institute for Material Testing of Serbia in Belgrade,
the system of industrial construction of buildings using
prestressed concrete under the name IMS-Zezelj started to develop in
1957. The author is Prof. Branko Zezelj. The system was conceived as
an open system of structural elements by which,
honoring minimum rules, many buildings can be composed of different
sizes, heights and purposes. Nowadays the system IMS is used
for construction of residential and office buildings, schools,
hospitals, hotels as well as of commercial buildings, light industry
workshops
and sports structures. The height of the buildings ranges from
groundfloor plus one floor up to groundfloor plus twenty nine
floors.

IMS is a skeleton system in prestressed concrete with stiff
walls to achieve rigidity. The basic elements of the system are:
reinforced concrete pillars, coffer, cantilever floors, edge
girders, staircases and stiff walls. The facade and partition walls in
IMS system differ very much. Besides the panels of uniform design
given in the catalogue, many other different facade and
partition
walls are used. They are designed and built by contractors
themselves depending on the local conditions and their
respective possibilities.
