THE COMPLEX of the Faculty of Maritime Studies consists of
27 construction-building units, respectively 92 buildings and
is located 25 km away from Tripoli towards Zanzur (Libya).
The total area of the complex is about 90,000
m2. The university centre for maritime studies consists of: administrative
building, a classroom block for business school, planetarium, library,
health and computer centre, shops, block for maritime studies, a
theatre, entrance building, centre for providing food to the cadets, a
mosque, dormitory for cadets, a building for technical staff,
boarding building for bachelor officers, clubs for commanding
officers, a swimming pool, a sports hall, power plant building,
hangar for helicopter, firefighting control, building for
married couples, complex for fighting damages and destruction, port,
port building, roads, pedestrian zones, parking area, grounds for
parade and competitions, public illumination, telephones, etc.
§ The complex withstood American bombing in April 1986 with
minimum damages. The repair was done by "Energoprojekt -Visokogradnja".
