THE INSTITUTE of Bio-Organic Chemistry of the Academy of
Science of USSR in Moscow was designed and executed as a
system of independent buildings having basement, groundfloor
plus six floors with the total area of 90,000
m2. They are concentrated and interconnected by the main corridor along the
central diagonal axis of the complex. Each of the individual
buildings is under the angle of 45o in relation to the axis of
the system, thus providing the optimum conditions
regarding communications, use of space and illumination of the premises.
The complex consists of:
§
administrative block with a central hall, a restaurant, two
conference halls (capacity 150 and 800 seats), hall for the
scientific council, offices, technical premises and a central control
system;
§ production-research block with the system of the most modern
laboratories in the field of bio-organic chemistry and genetic
engineering;
§ main corridor with
supporting services, a restaurant, a
swimming pool and a gym.
