THE COMPLEX in its construction meets the
basic city planning concept and in the centre of the composition there is a
spacious octagonal atrium with a pool and a
fountain.
The complex consists of 9 buildings total area 90,000
m2, having multi-purpose functions, and
equipped with complicated installations. The location was very limited to develop the
site, to design and to complete the construction in 32
months, and therefore a modern assembly structural system was chosen.
This system allowed great flexibility, quick and total
assembly with the maximum use of industrial
semi-products and products in the finishing stage of the
works. The system was improved and adjusted to the terrain conditions, site and
available machinery to the extent that these
innovations made it original. The basic structural elements are hollow reinforced concrete
slabs, a column and a wall element receiving
horizontal forces. The slab is distinguished for its dimensions (3.6 x 7 x 0.24) and
represents its own record considering the small
height and a large span achieved
by classical reinforcing. The structure is characterized
by a very small large of used elements resulting from strictly
standardized functional solutions.
§
The complex consists of 9 multi-storey blocks with 3 business
blocks, 3 apartment blocks and a department store block.
The ground floor and the mezzanine in all the buildings are
designed in such a way that they can be used for public
purposes, like shops, banks, clinics, laundries, etc.
§
The facade, besides its basic function to protect from
atmospheric effects and over accumulation of heat, satisfies
the aesthetic conditions of the surrounding~ and harmoniously
fits into the setting. It consists of an internal thermal-insulating
layer and external reinforced concrete ventilated panels which
receive all exterior- effects.
