THE COMPLEX of ministry buildings is situated in the centre of the capital of Kuwait. It consists of 18 four-storey buildings (base 50.0 x 50.0 m) interconnected around a typical atrium.
The buildings are built above a two-storey underground garage.
§ The total nett area is 360,000 m2 out of which half is an office space and half are garages. Within the complex there are
alongside facilities housing equipment for airconditioning, cooling towers (8 units of 900
kW each) and underground water tanks.
§ The buildings are
luxuriously equipped according to the highest world standards.
§ The structural system consists of
columns, walls and ceilings in the form of coffer slabs. All the mechanical installations
were installed, including the sprinkler system with the fire-fighting installations covering 150,000
m2 of spare, central water
cooling installations, 40 lifts and 8 escalators. Power is
provided by 5 sub-stations having 30 MW installed power.
